What to Look for in a Reputable False Eyelash Supplier

As a result, we're seeing more and more beauty shops and online suppliers carrying them. However, with so many options available to the modern woman, how is she to know which eyelash supplier will provide her with the best option for her money and time? Here's how to choose one that you'll be able to trust for a long time to come.

Good Selection
A good eyelash supplier won't just stock a couple of options and call it a day. They'll be focused on showcasing a wide variety of today's hottest options, as they'll understand how important it is for a busy gal to be able to create different looks for different occasions. Whether you ultimately decide to buy from a traditional brick and mortar beauty supply shop or enjoy the modern convenience of shopping for your eyelashes online, make sure you go with someone who thinks selection is important.

Solid Reviews and Good Customer Feedback
One of the most popular ways to evaluate an eyelash supplier before buying is to scour the internet for consumer reviews attached to the place. This is especially the case if you're going with a virtually unknown or new eyelash supplier. Were other customers happy with the service they received? Were the items they purchased of quality? How was the place about handling returns or answering questions? It's important that a place have regulars and happy clients who would come again. This is the case not only in regards to the initial purchase, but also issues that may arise.

Low Prices and Plenty of Good Deals
A good eyelash supplier is sublimely interested in showing their customers that they're valued and that means keeping prices low. We're living in a day and age when people need to be able to count on getting as much bang for their buck as possible and this is no less the case when it comes to beauty items than anything else. Look for an eyelash supplier that prices their items competitively despite offering the biggest names and the hottest styles out there.

You'll also probably want to keep an eye out for an eyelash supplier that makes it a point to offer clients and customers special deals. Do you get a percentage taken off your total if you purchase over a certain amount... or free shipping for being a loyal customer? Does the supplier give bulk discounts or offer special deals for beauty shops and other beauty-based businesses? The hallmark of a reputable business is the way it treats its customers like valued assets and that means making sure they get a good value for their money.

The Best Eyelash Growth Serums Reviewed

There are a plethora of products currently on the market that profess their effectiveness in giving the customer longer, thicker, denser eyelashes. They come in a remarkable range of prices too, given that they all make similarly bold claims about their results. Below we've chosen four eyelash growth serums from across the price spectrum to discuss their comparative ingredients and results.

RapidLash Eyelash Enhancing Serum

RapidLash is an extremely popular choice of eyelash serums. The product description gives a very optimistic estimate of its results- "Clinically proven up to 50% longer and 75% more voluminous looking natural lashes. RapidLash enhancing serum conditions your lashes to look stronger, fuller, and longer in as little as 30 days."- and at a reasonable price it's hardly likely to break the bank.

As far as ingredients are concerned, the list is fairly expansive and appears to be mostly extracts from natural sources- such as Cucurbita Pepo Seed Extract, Panthenol and Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, which the Rapidlash website tells us is a licorice extract.

As far as results are concerned, the majority of reviewers report that they were happy with the results but that eyelashes began to deteriorate again when application was ceased and that they were forced to continue buying the product.

Latisse Serum

Latisse is another topical lash serum that contains eyelash growth super-ingredient Bimatoprost. This is the only product we will look at that contains this ingredient, which has been scientifically proven to cause the growth of longer, thicker and denser eyelashes and unfortunately the price does reflect this fact. Amazon sellers have this priced at around $100, which is very much more expensive than competitor products.

It does come with some potentially negative side effects too- bimatoprost has been shown to cause irreversible colour change in the iris, and can lead to unwanted hair growth if it comes into contact with other patches of skin. On the plus side, reviewers all seem to agree that this serum works extremely well.

L'Oreal Lash Boosting Serum

The cheapest of our three products, this one contains a rather long list of very science-sounding ingredients, along with mainstays Panthenol and Arginine. This particular serum can be bought for the very wallet-friendly price, although it has received some very mixed reviews in general. Whilst it is generally recognised as an effective product with positive results, it has been reported to also leave white residue left around the eyes after use, as well as redness and swelling.

urLash Eyelash Enhancing Serum, combined with its clinically proven ingredients can help thicken, lengthen and condition your lashes in less than 2 weeks with our scientifically proven advanced formula. For more information about eyelash growth serum visit urLash today!

Understanding The Eyelash Growth Cycle Phases

Many women work hard to get long, thick, dark eyelashes. Between using make-up, hair follicle stimulators, growth serums, and fake eyelashes, women are spending both time and money trying to achieve a perfect look. Unfortunately, all that primping, pulling, and over-use of makeup can cause major problems. In extreme cases, women are finding that their lashes are actually falling out and getting thinner.

While eyelashes are a little different than the hair on your head or other parts of your body, they do have a similar cycle of growth, shedding, and regrowth.

So why do you have eyelashes? Eyelashes are not just accessories designed to frame your baby blues and make your eyes look more dramatic; they actually serve a major purpose. They are your eyes' first line of defense against small, potentially harmful particles floating around in the air. Not only do they block some particles from entering your eye, they can sense danger to your eyes and will actually make the eyelid shut reflexively when they feel threatened. Each eye is surrounded by over 200 lashes that work hard to protect it from dirt, pollen, and other intruders.

The Eyelash Growth Cycle..

While eyelashes may be a little different than the hair on your head, they do follow the same three-stage growth cycle.

Anagen Phase: The 'anagen' phase of the growth cycle is the part where growth actually happens. Throughout this phase, each eyelash thickens and becomes longer. The anagen phase can last for 30 to 45 days. Each lash has its own growth stage, so some lashes may continue to grow for the full 45 days, while others may stop at 30.

Catagen Phase: During the 'catagen' phase, eyelashes stop growing and the follicle begins to shrink. This phase typically lasts between two and three weeks.

Telogen Phase: The 'telogen' phase is commonly referred to as the resting period for the eyelash.

The lash is doing growing and shrinking, so it has reached its maximum potential as far as thickness and length is concerned. The telogen phase can last for a long time, sometimes as long as 100 days. After the end of the period, the lash falls out and the cycle starts over. It may take up to six weeks from the time the lash falls out until it is fully grown back in.

It is important to keep in mind that every single eyelash goes through its own growth cycle, so if you lose a few each day, don't panic. It's part of the process to make room for new lashes. Of course, if they're falling out at a rapid rate or seem to be thinning as time goes by, you should consult with a medical professional to make sure there isn't something else going on.

So What Can Cause Eyelash Loss?

Eyelashes are considered to be a hair on your body - just like hair on your arms or legs, even though most people don't think of them that way. These hairs on your eyes can be sensitive to environmental factors, poor health and can be damaged. In the same way that we shed scalp hair, eyelash hair can also shed because it has its own natural growth cycle or they have lost their strength or become damaged.

Most causes of eyelash loss are due to the fact they have some sort of damage done to them. Many people notice when babies have beautiful eyelashes, and sometimes it seems that men have been the gender to have beautiful eyelashes. This is because quite simply women use cosmetic appliances and procedures much too often. This damages the actual eyelash hair and can result in eyelash loss and thinning. Using mascara regularly can also be a cause for a loss of eyelashes. Mascaras can add weight to the fine hairs when applied; mascaras are often removed via rubbing because many types of mascara cannot easily be washed off. This can damage the hair at the root causing permanent eyelash loss.

Those that are sensitive to allergies tend to find themselves rubbing at the eyelash. Itchy red eyes from allergies, smoke, dust, a sensitivity to chemicals, and even fatigue also cause the natural reaction of rubbing, but this leads to damaging the eyelash hairs.

While poor habits allergies and makeup use can contribute greatly to eyelash loss there are also some medical conditions to be considered that can lead to a weakening in strength of the eyelash and eventual permanent loss. These conditions include:

Blephartis: defined as an inflammation of the hair follicles and glands along the edges of the eyelid. Eyelids can become tender and sore and there may be dry or itchy scaling which contributes to the burning and watering of the eyes, causing a loss of the eyelash.

Distichiasis: while one might think of more eyelashes as a good thing, this condition consists of two rows growing of eyelashes. It does not need to be a full row and usually consists of one or both of them growing inward, causing irritation.

Madarosis: this condition is when one loses of eyelashes or eyebrows. It can be caused by a condition from birth or it can be to be a side effect of an already occurring illness.

Trichiasis: this is simply the technical name for ingrown eyelashes. The eyelash scrapes the cornea of the eye causing irritation. A person who has an ingrown eyelash will pluck it out, but there is great irritation that comes along with this and can cause eyelash loss.

Although there are medical illnesses that can cause eyelash loss, most of the time the eyelash loss is due to the constant rubbing and attempts to undo the discomfort manually. This is why it is important to be gentle with your eyes, and should you feel that it is becoming overly irritated, a physician should be sought.

Eyelash Loss And Its Causes

Eyelashes, like other hairs on the human body, are susceptible to damage caused by environmental factors or poor health. They can also be shed, either as part of the natural growth cycle of the eyelash or because they have become too weak or badly damaged.

The majority of eyelash damage is caused by over-frequent cosmetic treatments. Eyelash curlers are particularly prone to damaging these fragile hairs because they pull at the root of the hair and, over time, weaken it to the point where the hair comes loose. Other cosmetic applications (such as the use of mascara) can also be to blame for the eventual loss of eyelashes. These substances not only weigh the lashes down when applied, they can also be difficult to remove (this is especially true in the case of waterproof mascaras, that can't easily be washed off) forcing the wearer to rub at the eyelashes, causing damage and loss.

People with allergies are also subject to the negative effects of rubbing on the eyelashes. Conditions such as hay-fever, which can often lead to itchy, red eyes, are common culprits but anything that causes an individual to unduly manhandle the area around the eyes (such as fatigue) is likely to have this effect.

There are other medical conditions which lead to eyelash loss, too. The most common are:

Madarosis: Madarosis is the lack, or loss of eyelashes either by way of a congenital condition or as a side effect of an infection or malignant neoplasms (normally cancer).

Blephartis: Blephartis is a condition that causes (sometimes severe) irritation at the lid margin (where the eyelashes are attached to the eyelid), leading to itchy, flaky skin and very often the loss of eyelashes.

Distichiasis: Distichiasis refers to the abnormal growth of eyelashes at unexpected points on the eyelid. This can lead to squinting and intense irritation leading to lash-loss.

Trichiasis: Trichiasis is another name for ingrown eyelashes, which in themselves can be harmful to the eyeball but also again cause so much irritation that lash-loss is possible.

None of these conditions should be considered a death sentence for your hopes of beautiful eyelashes- in fact, for most the cessation of the illness and its symptoms should be enough to result in the regrowth of a full set. However, as you can see, most eyelash loss is caused not by disease directly, but by manual manipulation of the eye area due to irritation. For this reason, you should always try to keep your hands away from your eyes when possible and always seek medical advice in cases where you feel your eyes becoming itchy or inflamed.

Encouraging Natural Eyelash Growth

Most women spend a considerable amount of money on enhancing their eyelashes in order to make them longer or thicker. However, not many actually consider the natural growth of their eyelashes and how to enhance this. You may think that achieving thick and full eyelashes stops at mascara or false lashes but for those women who do not have full lashes, there are other options.

Although a great, cheap quick-fix, mascara can be problematic if not applied properly. It can sometimes look uneven or clumpy and can become unnatural if overworked. If you have the time and right techniques, as well as the right product, mascara can look great but there are few women who have got the art of mascara application down to a t. False lashes are a good option because they can be quite striking and as long as they are fixed properly, they can look more professional looking than mascara alone. However, actually getting to grips with applying the glue to the lashes and then steadily fixing them to your skin (and getting it close enough to your original eyelashes so you don't get the doubled up effect) can be really tricky.

Because of the pitfalls of mascara and false lashes, many women would choose to opt for natural eyelash growth. To encourage natural growth, a serum can be applied to your eyelids which stimulates your hair follicles. There are many serums to choose from on the market but it is important that you do your homework before buying one. They can be expensive and not all work as they claim to do.

Here is a list of things to look for in a natural eyelash growth product so that you make the best choice for you:

1.) Look for a product with a money back guarantee so that if you are unhappy with the product you can send it back. If a company is willing to offer this, it is more likely to mean that their product is good quality and there won't be need for them to refund your money.

2.) Look for something which takes time to have an effect. As it is a natural remedy, it is not going to work instantly, so anything claiming to do this is likely to be offering false promises.

3.) Only buy products with natural ingredients. This can be tricky as cosmetic labelling contains a lot of Latin names. Things to stay clear of are prostaglandins or prostaglandin analogs. These can be harmful to your eyes and may: cause you to lose your colour vision; make your vision blurry and in some cases they can actually change your eye colour. If you find either one of these in the ingredients, stay well away.

If you find the right natural product, natural eyelash growth enhancing serums can be really effective. It's just important that you follow instructions and keep up with the applications.

Eyelash Trends Spotted on Runways

Eyelash Trends Spotted on Runways

A number of different eyelash trends have been spotted on the fashion catwalks and sported by celebrities such as Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, a sure sign that they will dominate the make-up scene for the coming season.

Tommy Hilfiger and Donna Karen wowed the audience with their bold choice in leaving mascara off the models, creating a brave, bare-faced look with nude eyes and bright lips in shocking pinks and reds. The models blessed with natural long and luxurious eyelashes carried off the look with aplomb and the trend can be emulated by using eyelash conditioners and enhancers. This magic wand for lashes will boost the look of growth and improve the overall condition of the lashes, making it easier to forgo mascara and wear this season's look. It is recommended to curl the lashes and then work eyeliner into the eyelash roots to provide some definition.

Taking their inspiration from the 1960's, Christian Dior models have been spotted sporting spidery, bold lashes to complement this season's baby doll look. Lash enhancers will provide the striking length and volume that is needed to emulate this look, which has also been spotted on the Kardashian girls but the focus this year is not on falsies but rather on a more natural look with bold lashes. Eyelash conditioners and growth enhancers will make all of the difference in creating these long, luscious lashes.

Gucci went with a sultry and sexy smoky eye during their recent show, with models showcasing defined and maximised lashes. Chanel chose a luminous, natural look with long, spiky lashes and Viktor and Rolf decked their models out in pink, spidery lashes with a touch of glitter.

Long, thick eyelashes are essential to achieving any of the recent runway looks and celebrities such as Katy Perry and Lady Gaga have created a desire in women for a set of luxurious and bountiful eyelashes. Using a lash serum, the eyes will appear more defined and following this season's trends will be easier because the eyelashes will be long and thick enough to support the looks.

Lash serum's should be applied daily as a thick line on each upper lid at the eyelash root in the same way as liquid eyeliner. The natural ingredients are guaranteed to improve the overall appearance of sparse, short and thin eyelashes, making the appearance of thicker, fuller and longer eyelashes in four weeks.

This testers favorite pick: Beaute de Paris Lash Relonge for the appearance of fuller, longer eyelashes.
