3 Ways to Look Hot at the Beach

Preparation is key 3 Ways to Look Hot at the Beach

Give your skin some attention before stepping out in the sand.

If you still have a few weeks to go, think about upping your workout regimen for the next few weeks. Focus on those areas which aren't usually on show. Weighted squats, more crunches and skipping will help you look hot in your bikini.

If your timeline is days not weeks, this is the time to think about fake tanning, upping your moisturising routine and waxing. Fake tan can help bring out a bit of confidence. For everyday events, fake tan is not a must, but when you are exposing so much of your body, it can give you that added confidence.

It is important to sort out any dry or scaly parts of your body, because your body will be on show at the beach! Try using a moisturizer which adds moisture, not just one which stops it escaping. I like to look for ones with Shea butter in to add moisture. Although there are many advocates of aloe Vera, I find that it just does not add the moisture which Shea butter gives me.

In the last few days before you head to the beach, try to avoid foods which will bloat you. Salt, processed carbohydrates and sugar all will make your body hold more water. To help you show off that slim body, try to avoid bloating foods.

Remember that your make-up will probably smudge on the beach. Tinted eyelashes or waterproof mascara is a good idea.

The right outfit

The right outfit for the beach will be the one which suits your body type. If you have thick legs, don't go for boy shorts. Short legs will benefit from high cut bikini bottoms. If you are a bit heavier, try going for a string bikini, because thick straps will add to your thickness (sorry folks!)

Getting a bikini to suit your shape is all about proportions. If you are pear-shaped then avoid large bikini bottoms or side tied briefs and go for halter-neck tops and string bikini bottoms. If you have a large bra size then opt for an under-wired top.

If you are pale, try to avoid black and white, but go for jewel tones.

If you are tanned, you can go for the bright colours, black and whites and metallic shades.

Match your bikini with accessories. Heeled wedges will give your legs a more toned look and add some height to your legs. Big sunglasses not only look fashionable, but will keep sun out of your eyes. A sarong or beach dress can keep the sun off and avoid sunburn, it is also good for showing off your fashion style on the beach!

Care on the beach

SPF, everyone knows the basics. Apply it 30 mins before you are on the beach. Re-apply after you get out the water. DON'T FORGET to apply a SPF lip balm also. This is an often neglected part of your body and will keep you smile beautiful after. If you go swimming, remember that the salt water will dry out your hair. Tie it back, or use a deep moisturiser after.
