While some people will tell you to simply eat a balanced meal and exercise regularly there are, however, loads of researchers and developers coming up with fascinating new products and dieting solutions.

Here are some of the newest dieting trends for the spring of 2012

DNA diets: One of the latest trends is the diet industry is the DNA diet. People go to dieticians to get a DNA analysis (which basically measures 8 variables that influences a person's metabolism) to find out whether a low carb, low fat or a low GI diet would suite their genetic make-up. One can argue that all three types of diets would have a positive effect on a person's weight loss journey, but fact remains that everyone has different genes and different diets suite different people better. Detox Diet: A few years ago, it was only models and actresses who would consider a strict detox, but an increasing number of men and women are showing interest in detoxing for a few days up to a few weeks. The goal of detoxes is to change your eating habits in an attempt to detoxify the body by ridding it oftoxins and other contaminants. One of the other trends is the way in which people decide which diets to follow and which products they choose to use. People are now much more likely to hop onto Search Engines, such as Google, Bing and Yahoo, or to look for reviews from friends and acquaintances on social networks. This is a huge shift in the way that diet products get marketed and endorsed.
