7 Tips for Making Your Nail Polish Last Longer

7 Tips for Making Your Nail Polish Last Longer

For many women, applying nail polish is part of their grooming routine. Such women don't feel presentable if their fingernails and toenails are bare. So even though a manicure and pedicure consumes at least half a day's worth of time, these women consider it time well-spent. Some women take it even further by using their nails as canvass for nail art.

A typical problem with nail polish, however, is that while it takes a lot of time to apply properly, you can expect your polish to stay flawless for only a couple of days or so at best. Your nails can even chip a few hours after you've applied them. This can be very frustrating, and a lot of women have sworn off polishing their nails after such an occurrence.

But it is possible to prevent your nail polish from chipping and make it last longer. You can do so with these seven tips:

Clean your nails first before polishing them. Wash your hands and then soak your fingertips in lemon juice or apple cider vinegar. This will remove the excess oils from the surface of your fingernails. With these natural oils stripped off your nail bed, the polish is guaranteed to stick to your nails instead of sliding off. The acidic wash will additionally brighten your nails and remove any residual yellow tinge. To prevent any more oils from getting on your fingernails, avoid using or holding anything oily prior to polishing.

Always apply a base coat first. The base coat serves as a primer and a buffer between your nail bed and the polish, thus allowing the color coat to stick to your nails but without staining them.

Rather than applying your colors in one thick coat, brush them on in thin layers. And then, wait for each layer to dry before applying another coat. It's a tedious process but this method will make your nail polish more durable and resistant to chipping. For best results, brush the polish horizontally across the tips of your fingernails.

Protect the color coating of your fingernails with a top coat. To harden this top coat and help make your nail polish last longer, soak your fingernails in cold water for ten minutes after applying the top coat. If you have time, you should make it a daily habit to brush on a thin layer of top coat on your nails.

You should also moisturize your hands daily after your manicure. Oil may be bad for the nails before the manicure, but it's essential after you've put on your polish. A commercial hand lotion is good enough, but you'll get better results if you use natural oils like olive oil. If you want to pamper your hands even more, you should invest in a bottle of argan oil.

Take good care of the tools and products you use for your manicure. Seriously, your manicure is only as good as the tools and products you've used to attain it. So, store your polish in a cool place, preferably in the refrigerator and keep your nail brushes and files clean. Never shake your nail polish because doing so will create air bubbles in the product. Air bubbles can contribute to your polish easily chipping off your nails.

Never use your fingernails as tools. It goes without saying that sudden force on your nails will do more than just ruin a good manicure. It can also damage your nail bed itself. Don't do it.
It's definitely frustrating to see chips and scratches on your fingernails after you've meticulously manicured it. But if you apply your nail polish and care for your nails properly, your manicure will last for weeks.

You will achieve a better and longer-lasting manicure if you use high-quality nail polish and treat your nails regularly with argan oil. You should try these products out.

How to Get Real Longer Eyelashes in Just Days

Mascaras and longer fake eyelashes have for decades been the sole choice for women to extend their eye lashes for a more glamorous, elegant and sultry look.

That is until just a few hair growth accelerators were released onto the market in 2012 that have taken this industry by storm.

Longer, thicker more luscious looking lashes are sought after by women as the life span of an eyelash hair follicle is just 3 months compared to other hairs which can last more than 3 years.

This obviously means that they fail to reach their full length and rich potential but now eye lash formulas can be applied to the root of the eye lash helping them grow faster and richer in strength and beauty.

Getting that dream look is now much easier than you think and absolutely affordable where no celebrity endorsement should fool you into thinking it will cost an arm and a leg because the super rich can supposedly afford them.

EyeLash Growth Accelerator by Eye-Secrets is one such product that guarantees extensive growth, where the brand reports that in as little as 21 days you will see significant results and a noticeable reduction in the amount of mascara you will need to use.

Containing no toxins like the dangerous parabens, hormones or salicylates, these hair growth accelerators and other similar growth products are best applied in the evening before your beauty sleep, to the root of the eye lash so it's not disturbed like it would be with your everyday niggles, touching or rubbing of the eyes.

Achieving radiant lashes in less than 3 weeks is now more than achievable and as a result, they will keep eyelashes in for much longer due to the nutrients that are absorbed into the root of each hair follicle.

So getting that dream look that was once achieved by professional make-up artists using fake lashes and heavy mascaras is no longer the way to achieve celebrity looks any longer.

Fake hair growth accelerators and mascaras are also extremely expensive and are by no means permanent so why tread this pricey path when easily affordable if not cheap in comparison to older eye lash growth traditions are the more effective and natural option.

Healthy looking naturally thick and glamorous lashes will sure invite many more compliments in the long run if having that sultry seductive look is what you so require.

How to Make Your Hair Grow Faster and Longer - Everything You Need to Know

How to Make Your Hair Grow Faster and Longer - Everything You Need to Know

Why do you contemplate on "how to make your hair grow faster and longer" when shorter hair also looks good? Some women don't seem to worry about having short hair. Some even maintain wearing short hairstyles throughout their lifetime. They don't worry about running out of styles because there are so much styles that anybody can choose from. So if you will rather choose to cut your hair than long for a lengthy one, you can change hairstyle every month, perhaps every week. This is just one reason for you to consider wearing short hair.

Another reason has something to do with weather. Temperatures are rising around the world. Of course, you know about the phenomenon that is climate change. Men and women sweat exceedingly during hot days and it can really feel sticky and uncomfortable. To lessen body heat, one way is to trim or cut the hair. Many men prefer shaving off their entire hair and keep their heads bald for months.

And no one is pretty sure if it's going to be worse, or what. What is definite is: Because of climate change, more women are opting for short hair. You are lucky if you live in a temperate region. But as mentioned, no one can really determine ahead what's going to be the condition tomorrow.

How to Make Your Hair Grow Faster and Longer

Despite the explanations above, you still are determined to have long hair? Mind you, that will take months until you see a big change. And, if you are not careful enough, that will take longer.

Consider doing the following (on your bid to make your hair grow faster and longer) if you are really up to it.

Trim your hair often. This practice will make hair grow faster since trimming allows more space for growth. Trimming also reduces the presence of split ends and prevents rapid splitting. This is because trimming causes hair strands to come closer to one another, preventing too much heat to enter through. Because of this, your hair will have more conducive environment for growth.

Use deep conditioning treatments occasionally. Hydration in the insides of each strand is the purpose for this. Because of too much heat and hairstyling procedures, hair strands lose their moisture and oil. Hydration will restore shine, improve texture and give body to each and every strand of your hair.

But you should do this just occasionally - to allow the body to perform its natural function of replenishing damaged hair strands. Use conditioning treatment only as a maintenance regimen.

Comb your hair religiously. Clean your hair by combing it religiously. If you will do this often, you will also cause oil and moisture to be evenly distributed in your hair. Additionally, by combing your hair, you will stimulate nerve endings that are located in your scalp.

Above all, maintain a feeling of confidence in yourself. You are beautiful inside, that's what matters. You need to know this more than you need to have beautiful hair.

How to Grow Hair Longer

How to Grow Hair Longer

At some point I believe we all want to grow our hair longer - either because we want longer hair for styling, we have suffered some loss or thinning, or we experience slow growth.

One of the first ways to grow longer hair is to make sure your hair is healthy. Healthy hair can withstand a little tension without breaking off or falling out. It bounces back naturally and keeps on growing. Look critically at your care regimen and specific follicles.

Examine its ends to see if you have many split ends. Also, pull on your hair just a little to see if there is an elastic quality to it or if it breaks off with just the tiniest of stretch. This can best be done when wet.

When you comb wet hair, is usually lengthens just a fraction, then bounces back. This is healthy and normal. If wet hair breaks off, you need a little help to restore its health through topical or vitamin supplements. What you can first do, however is to remove the split ends by cutting off a half inch of your hair. This will give the rest of the follicle shaft a better opportunity to grow.

Vitamins For Better Hair & Scalp Health

To get your hair to grow longer, nutrition and overall health is often the key. Your hair follicles, just like the rest of your body, need to be nourished and supplied with all the vitamins, especially vitamins B and E, which lead to growth. Your intake of amino acids is important because amino acids are the building material for the protein in your hair as well as nails. This protein is also known as keratin. Most amino acids are synthesized in your body without you ever needing to do anything. However, there are ten amino acids that cannot be synthesized by the body. You have to get them through your diet. These essential acids are extremely important for overall health as well as the health of your hair. They are gleaned from certain foods rich in 'good fats.' If you are not sure that you are consuming the right types of food, then taking a vitamin supplement is the best solution. Moreover, fish oil is often found to promote healthy skin, hair and nails.

Growing Hair Longer

Hair will grow at its own speed, about a half inch per month on average. In some people, it can grow up to one inch per month. To get the best speed out of your hair growth, there are a few things you can do. One thing that is mostly neglected in addressing the growth of longer hair is consumption of gelatin. Gelatin will keep the outer layer of keratin moist and strong. Keratin is the protein that protects the growing nail from the outside. In hair, the entire hair shaft outside of the scalp is made of keratin. Gelatinous layers around the keratin keep hair from getting brittle and breaking off. By drying hair with a hair dryer, the gelatin will not be able to function as a protective shield because the heat will dry the gelatin and the keratin shafts at the same time.

In Summary

Long and healthy hair is a result of healthy living (or eating in many cases), in which you care for your scalp by having good circulation. This is achieved by daily exercise as well as scalp massages. Eating a healthy diet will provide your hair follicles with all the essentials and supplements they need to grow at an optimal rate. Caring for your hair with good hygiene is essential. Regular restorative treatments and the avoidance of damaging dyes, harsh shampoos, chemicals and heat is the last bastion you need to conquer for having long, healthy hair.
